1Jamo Build
Watch every syllable snap together. Korean syllables aren't picked from a list — they're built. As you type, Jamo Build shows each keystroke locking into place: ㅇ becomes 아 becomes 안. The layout stops being a grid of strange symbols and starts making sense, key by key.
2Hint Fading
Hints that know when to leave. At first, the app shows you where the keys are. As your accuracy grows, the hints step back — a little less help each round — until you're typing with nothing to lean on. Because "knowing the keyboard" only counts when no one is pointing at the keys.
3Real-keyboard transfer
Practice that ends on YOUR keyboard. The goal isn't a high score inside an app. K-Type Quest checks whether you can type words you never practiced, on your phone's actual Korean keyboard — and shows you the numbers: how accurately, and how quickly.
Questions
I can't read Hangul yet. Should I start here?
Not yet — and that's fine. Learn to read Hangul first (most people manage it in a weekend with any free guide). K-Type Quest starts exactly where reading ends: you can sound out 안녕, but typing it still feels like defusing a bomb.
Do I need to install anything?
No app install. The Readiness Test runs in your phone's browser using your phone's own Korean keyboard. If you haven't added the Korean keyboard yet, the test walks you through enabling it in your settings — it's built into iOS and Android.
What does the score actually measure? And is it free?
The test gives you a short set of Korean words to type and measures two things: whether you complete each word correctly without help, and how long it takes. That becomes your Readiness Score (0–100). The test is free, with no account and no catch — we're in an open research phase and the test stays free.

What's involved
- A short typing test before you start (about 5 minutes)
- Two 15-minute practice sessions, on separate days
- A short typing test after — on your phone's real Korean keyboard
What we record
Anonymous typing metrics only: which word was shown, whether you completed it, how long it took, and how many corrections you made. We never record the raw text you type, and your email is used only to coordinate the pilot.
